Central Park is a lovely park that is popular for occasions such as weddings. It has lovely grasslands and trees, a nice oval, a pavilion, a conservatory, a large fountain, and, of course, a wonderful playground.

There is a toddler and young kids structure with a bridge and platforms quite close to the ground, plus a slide, a tunnel, a steering wheel on the high platform and a sliding pole.

The other structure is clearly for older kids with a range of monkey bars including trapeze rings and a horizontal ladder, a chain bridge, chain mesh ladder, coil climber and deep rung arch climber and spiral slide. Add in four swings, a bike spring and a seesaw currently under maintenance, that should be enough to keep most kids entertained for a long time. Otherwise there's always chasey around the fountain and hide and seek throughout the gardens.

Toilets are located at the far corner of the park, perhaps a five minute walk from the playground. The playground is right on the Kingston Street edge of the park and has no fencing - perhaps its only drawback.
