Quality equipment includes ladders, slide, bridge, flying fox, swings, bouncy horse, seesaw-swings. Best enjoyed by 6+ or 8+ year olds - toddlers and youngest children can't get onto all of it, but 3+ should be able to play on at least some. Playground is not fully shaded - there are large trees to the west that provide some shade at some times of day - but there are shaded shelters nearby, next to the BBQs.

Location is marvellous - river and bridge nearby, Castledare miniature railway has a station there, the Eco Centre and Cafe are just the other side of the car park. Toilets nice but have no change facilities. Plenty of room to run around on the grass. Water approach is unfenced, but has been formed into a canoe launching bay and "beach" with steps so is easy to manage the smallest kids around. The Weir itself has a lovely bridge that leads to more bike paths and walkways in the regional park on the far side of the river. Bike paths from both sides of the river connect here.
