Beautiful setting. Great play equipment.

Pedestrian play equipment gets extra star due to the lovely Botanic Gardens setting with lake, orchid house, Japanese bridge and Australian native garden. Lots of amenities and landscaped areas ripe for exploring. Also gulls, ducks and Pelicans on the lake.

Decent playground under good shade. It looks like the shade sales were added recently, as it does not appear in the other photos.
The playground is surrounded by a beautiful lake, parklands, and walk-through gardens. A wonderful place to stop.

This lovely new play structure is situated right in the middle of the Botanic Gardens overlooking the lake. The gardens are beautiful and well worth spending some time exploring. A bridge leads to a little oriental island at the side of the lake which my 4-year-old preferred to the play equipment.
Several signs on the equipment proudly proclaim, 'access for all'. The structure is clearly designed to be as safe as possible with no exposed chains and all flexible parts covered in rubber padding. A rubber turf path leads to a ramp that could allow a wheelchair user to reach the upper platform, but there's not a lot to do once there for kids who can't get themselves down the slide or across the bridge. I'd like to see a few more pieces of equipment designed for mobility impaired kids to justify the signage.
There are a lot of novel pieces of equipment that little climbers will love.
