This new playground is another marvelous creation from the City of Boroondara team. There are lots of things to like here, with the most immediately striking feature being the impressive oak tree that the playground is tucked behind. The playground is sited at a high point on the Caravan St side of Minifie Reserve with the ground sloping away from the play equipment, so kids will run towards the centre of the park rather than towards the road.
There's some great equipment here that progresses from being appropriate for toddlers at the southern end to fun for seniors at the northern end, with some multi-age-appealing goods in between. We loved the running roller (I feared that these were a thing of the past, but it's great to see one newly installed again), plus the 'cheese grater' climber, the climbing wall and the whirligig.
At the toddler end, my two-year-old loved being able to climb the steps by herself to reach the top of the slide, and then zip down again. We love a park that allows toddlers to be independent while still challenging older children and this one fits the bill perfectly.
