The playground in the botanic gardens is beside a large pond, which is partially fenced on the playground side. The main equipment is in the shape of a boat, with lots of steering wheels, binoculars and seats so you can sail the seven seas! A ramp leads up to the top level, which would make it accessible to children in wheelchairs.

Besides the big boat, there are two swings and a four-seater see-saw.The playground always keeps our group of kids, big and little, happy for ages.

A bike track continues in both directions from the playground. One way leads through the gardens, beside a creek, over a bridge, past little seats and gardens and forests until it reaches the tennis courts behind Picton Park and another great playground (about 5mins if you don't stop on the way but we ALWAYS stop on the way.)The other direction takes you over the hills for about 5 km. Just be aware that you'll pass a "Beware of snakes" sign that way - always a thrill!
