Great playground with limited shade due to being new (unless you sit under Bolte Bridge). It does have some water play during summer. Massive grassed area for ball games.
Great playground but no shade.
* Quick note to say this park is not fenced as mentioned in the original post. Parents will need to ensure they keep watch of children as deep water is not that far away.
Given the lack of alternatives in Docklands I rate this park a 3. A few different things to play on and water to play with, however the total lack of shade doesn't make it a very sun smart playground and I can only imagine how hot the big metal slide gets. There are some trees planted around the general area but they will take many years before they provide any shade.
It's also very much worth mentioning the double sized soccer pitch right next to the playground. When it first opened they had AFL and soccer goals, but they seem to have been taken away for some reason.
That said, it's fantastic to see this built in Docklands, a place I've worked in for about 5 years and consider it a concrete, uninspiring, wind swept disappointment.
We checked this place out today! What a great fun park. Not huge, but lots of natural elements and lots of sand and water play. Yes - there is not a lot of natural shade - but today on a sunny winter day it was lovely and actually all of the playground was in the shade by 2pm. The big soccer fields are a big thumbs up - nice and green and well tended and the park itself was very clean and tidy. We’ll be back.
