Great park lots of open space, ducks and birdlife. Plenty of shade and great coffee.
Agree with decent coffee; two play areas, small lake (bird watching) appropriate for many ages, lots of space far from roads. A great park.
There are two play areas at Queens Park - one closest to Mt Alexander Road and the other on the opposite side at Pascoe Vale Road.
The Pascoe Vale side is next to the swimming pool.
The Pascoe Vale side is highly recommended as not only does it have a nice set of equipment (mainly for under 6s) but it has a fantastic landscaped nature play area with towering gums, under-planting, and pathways to explore.
There is a good amount of seating, picnic tables, and rubbish bin. Also right on the lake for some handy bird feeding or chasing.
Pascoe Vale Rd side - excellent large playground, beautiful surroundings, plenty benches & tables or perfect for a picnic rug. Plenty of shade. Downside is it's a bit of a walk around lake to toilets (near cafe & other smaller playground) although a very pleasant one. Bring bikes or scooters.
Highly recommended.
While not a destination playground, it is actually really nice. Beautiful parklands with lots of shady spots for picnics and enough open space for ball games. We’ve come on a beautiful sunny day and there are lots of groups with children playing. A great meeting place! There’s not a whole heap of equipment things to do but with friends, it’s a nice spot. Handy cafe right next door.
