Scullin Park is a small playground designed for toddlers or young children. It has a small range of equipment that might find older kids bored within a few minutes.
The park is best used by locals as it is situated on a small street with permit zone parking. Restricted parking is available in nearby streets.
Two bench seats are nestled under lovely trees that lean over the playground. Thanks to these trees, there is quite good shade over the equipment, although the swings face North, which makes for very glary swinging in the middle of the day.
One word of warning: watch out for the very fast slide!
Its a small park but close to home so we visit it a lot.
The best thing about it is not the playground but the house next door to it which has a goose and a duck in the front garden. The kids love to stop by on the way.
I love this playground on a warm, sunny day. It is tucked away and probably only attended by locals. It is small and that's what I love about it. It is also good for very young children. I enjoy sitting on the picnic table and watching the kids play. It is situated in such a lovely area, which provides an excellent excuse to walk to Porgie and Mr J for a coffee and then Vinnies on the way back :P.
Scullin Park has been updated in recent years, but still retains its sweet, local character. The play equipment will appeal to toddlers up to mid-primary age, although possibly not for too long as it's very small. The surrounding trees offer lovely shade and there are several bench seats and a table as well. A water bubbler is tucked next to the shrubs. This is a gem for locals.
