This park has some large open spaces ideal for frisbee or kite flying and three distinct play areas to suit kids of all ages. There is a toddlers/little kids section set apart which unfortunately has no sun shade. The main play area is under trees and has a large climbing structure, swings and slide. Finally there are two long flying foxes which are signposted for twelve-year olds and over.

Toilets and barbeques are very close by as is a large gazebo with seats and tables. There is no fencing, but the play areas are well away from busy Mitcham Road.

Parking is available behind the Mitcham Bowling Club - drive down Bowling Green Lane.

Can tell it has recent upgrades - very good call on choices. Next should be sunshade for summer!

Halliday Park is now a truly impressive playspace. Its recent make-over has included some very attractive but functional landscape design that creates a seamless blend between play equipment and plantings.

Some funky new Proludic equipment means that the park can cater for a huge range of ages, adults included. The Aeroskate looks like a huge amount of fun (7-14 yo, but adults will love it). There's also a double flying fox (pommel and harness seat), a Speed Gyro, huge rope polygon, mini trampoline and bird's nest circular swing.

For the younger kids, there's a traditional multi-use structure with a tunnel, little slide and activity boards along the way. We love the water play area with a pump and little gates to lift and lower to create your own dam.

Acoustic bells to stomp on are always a winner as is the hammock.

It's the beautiful landscape design which really sets off this playspace. The huge logs to sit and hop over are very attractive and we love the way they invite you to hop through the middle of the garden beds, rather than ramble through the plants.

A gorgeous mosaic sculpture with plantings sprouting out its top is a lovely colourful addition.

Halliday Park has its own website, which includes a terrific history section along with a lot of other information. Here is the link: http://hallidaypark.webs.com/

This is the best local park I've found in the Mitcham area. Plenty of play equipment to cover a variety of ages, and lots of open grass area for the kids to run, or play ball games. It's big enough that even on the weekends you still feel like you have plenty of space.

Love the water play, love the flying fox! Great BBQ area. The water play area is not shaded so be sure to wear hat & sunscreen.
