Malmsbury is a very sweet town and is a great place for a stop when travelling north from Melbourne. Turn left straight off the Calder HWY into the carpark and you will find yourself facing the lovely botanical gardens.

The playground is nothing to write home about; however, it serves its purpose. The play unit is pitched at the junior ages and contains a slide, half-hoop climber, decking and tunnel. Littlies can play with the abacus, but watch out for the steps; they are incredibly steep. There is also a regular swing and a toddler swing with a belt.

Next to the playground are chairs and tables, barbecues and a neat toilet block.

Exploring the gardens would probably work off more energy than the playground equipment; the gardens really are lovely, with huge trees, lawns, a pond and, of course, the resident ducks.

The playequipment is a bit ordinary but makes up for it with a wonderful setting. The ducks are priceless.
