Named after a big ol' steamroller which has been decommissioned and painted for the kids to play on.
The park features an elevated boardwalk connecting 2 cubbies, one of which has a slippery-dip suitable for preschoolers.
Lots of shade from mature oak trees
Mt Barker road Stirling is a classic "village high street" so the park is an easy walking distance from shops and 3 cafes, all of which do take-away coffees, hot chips and other snacks. Also there is a lolly shop which does great icecreams and chocolate dipped fruit kebabs.
The playground is within a larger unfenced park which is where the free bbq, toilets and a big rotunda are.
There nappy changing table in the loo, but its pretty small so just do it on the grass if its not too wet.
Wait till after 10.30 in Winter to get some sun.
Warning: the fence is not completely child proof, little ones can slip through, but they don't attempt it until they see another kid do it. Also sometimes school kids leave the gate open. There is a finger trap on a little wheel on the steamroller, so just be aware.
There is a great tree with a central hollow that can fit 2 preschoolers.
Overall I like this park, it has things to do for a range of age groups.

This playground has been upgraded recently (mid-2011), with a large central play feature easily accessed by a variety of ages. Much better than previously (which was still good).
