A major part of my 1980s childhood this playground was closed when public safety became an issue. It's now been rebuilt to conform to all safety regs but is still a great day out.
Looks like some 1980s pieces are still here too.
It's huge, even has a maze with its own playground at the centre and a 300m waterway.
Despite my 80s nostalgia for all the risky activities and huge slides, the landscaping is a great improvement over the original as is the fencing and shade.
The maze is great. And the wire bridge is tricky and cool. The cafe serves well deserved ice-creams and some hot foods. There is a great variety of play equipment and easily a half day adventure. And it's free!
