Heirisson Island

A fun playground on Heirisson Island. The equipment is in reasonable condition, best suited to ages 0-12 (some parts of the climbing fort are accessible to non-climbers and non-walkers). The surfacing is the rubber matting stuff. There were poles for shade sails but no shade in place during our visit today (midsummer). There is one BBQ, one shaded table with benches at the playground, and many other tables and benches scattered around the island. Toilets are close by, sufficient and clean. Carparking is pay-and-display ticketing. You can only get to the carpark if coming from the Perth CBD. You can also come by bus, get off at the Vic Park Transfer Station and walk across the bridge to the island. We had a lot of fun exploring the island as well as using the playground.
