This is a lovely park and playground on the Swan River. There are several connected forts of different styles, most accessible by toddlers with a minimum of assistance. There is plenty of range for varying climbing abilities. Suggested ages 0-10 years. The equipment is under shade sails, on rubber surfacing.
There is a toilet block nearby, there are drinking fountains, several tables and benches and BBQs both throughout the reserve and also close to the playground. A bike path goes along the river. The river itself is below a riverwall, and there was a small beach area of sand and shells visible at the time we visited (the size of this will vary with the tide). The water was quite shallow enough for wading and paddling. There is a boat ramp for easy access other than jumping down the (not too high) riverwall.
The only downside to this park is that it is very close to UWA, which can make parking a problem. The parking is ticketed, $1.80 an hour currently with a 3 hour limit, but it still attracts students looking for a place to park. Outside of regular university hours this is unlikely to be a problem, and the short time limit means that there will often be a space or two available somewhere even during university hours, but that will be highly variable.
