The Playground at Darling Quarter opened today; and did the kids give it a work out! Heaps of great climbing structures, a cafe and amenities block right in the middle and the best water play I've ever seen....

Line ups for the huge slide were between 20 - 40 minutes but kids were happy to do it. Wonderful flying fox and the pendulum nest swing were the other big hits.

There are a number of yummy restaurants located next to the playground - sushi train style, thai, a great coffee shop selling Campos (heaps better than the coffee at the cafe in the playground) and more to be opened soon.

Unfortunately, there is one fault in the design - it is not pram or wheel chair friendly, lots of stairs and really difficult to negotiate with wheels.

Great park for older kids with flying fox ping pong tables (bring your own bat and ball) huge slide and spectacular rope climbing thing. Not too much for the littlies except water play so take a towel. Pram access to chase toddler around is really bad. Too many steps.

Fantastic playground! The kids loved the water area - if you have little kids, wear some clothes you don't mind getting wet because you'll probably have to get in too!!

Great park with lots of different things to keep the kids amused for hours. Understandably there were lots of kids and prams weren't too easy to get around but I have to agree, the best water play area I've seen.

One of th best in the entire greater Sydney area. The highlight is of course the water play area. Other equipment cover needs for all ages. Just great.

Tourist essential but be prepared for big crowds. Take a change of clothes and a towel for the water play. In such a busy area, active supervision is recommended. There is an emergency communications station in the playground area.
