The playground has 3 sections. Section 1 and 2 are in a fenced area and are suitable for babies, toddlers and preschoolers. The 3rd section is an older kids section with a lot of climbing equipment etc.

We loved this place! There are four zones covering ages 0-14. The east-most is a water zone with that grains-of-rubber surfacing and lots of little water jets and spills going every which way at different times, but no pools or places where water collects (it just drains through the rubber). Then there is an older kids' zone on a sandpit base, probably good from age 4/5 to 13 or so. These both have open access, they're not enclosed, though there is a fence between them and the road. The other two zones are separately fenced with a child-safe gate. There is a crawler's zone good for 0 to 2 with the rubber surfacing, and a sand-based zone for toddlers, non-ladder-climbers and children not tall enough for the bigger stuff, which is best for ages 1-4.

The three sets of play equipment have shade sails; there is stone-bench-steps for sitting on inside the younger-kids-zone fence and grassy slopes and sitting space by the older-kids end. There is a rest centre with toilets on the west side of the playground, a basketball court the other side of that, and a grassy area with the Dome cafe to the east of the waterplay end. Town centre with more food and shops is no more than a five minute walk away. A family-friendly beach is just alongside but not so close/visible as to tempt runaways.
