This park has a bit of something for everyone. There is an enclosed playground for toddlers with a small swing, climbing frame / cubby house with a slide and ladders. There are some seats but they are in full sun for much of the day. However, the park has many shady spots including a park bench under large trees which is good for breast feeding if your toddler is willing to stay in the fenced playground by themselves. The bench is within full view and easy shouting distance of the playground.

There is also equipment for older kids which is a bit limited but quite interesting. There is a round about and some climbing equipment. There are also some swings. None of this equipment is shaded. There is an old rocket which used to have a slide in it, but the slide has been removed and the rocket is now only good for looking at.

The surrounding park is lovely and shady. There is a large flat sports oval and a basketball court. There are also some good paths for biking.

There is one set of covered picnic tables elevated above the toddler playground with good views of the oval. There is a larger covered platform with BBQs and tables between the two playgrounds which makes this a good park for a largish BBQ gathering.

There are toilets and a good little cafe up the hill which does a roaring trade in take away coffee. Those sales go through the roof on Friday mornings when this park is teeming with under-5s attending the "Magic Yellow Bus". The Yellow Bus is a council run playgroup which sets up in Johnson Park every Friday morning with heaps of equipment, toys and craft, story telling and songs. It's free so if you're in the area on Fridays, drop by.

Has a fenced off area for the littlies with cubbie house type equipment featuring slide and small swing. Also has an older kids area seperate to the fenced off area with a set of swings too.
Many features include sheltered picnic tables, BBQ's, basketball court, large field to play ball sports and tracks for rollerblading or bicycle riding.
On Fridays, courtesy of Marrickville council, the Magic Yellow Bus is at the park from 9:30am-12:30pm. This is basically a portable playgroup! Bus comes and unloads many activites for the kids FREE of charge. A cafe close by, ensures you can grab yourself a coffee and/or snack.
Details of the Magic Yellow Bus can be found at the Marrickville Council's website under 'children's services'.
