Steel Park

This park was recently upgraded to include new play equipment including a huge flying fox. There is an okay range of climbing/ swinging equipment and flat paths for bikes, but the real drawcard is the new water play installations. Two 'river'systems provide plenty of opportunities to get wet, floa boats, build human dams and generally run around wet. Set right next to shady picnic grounds with BBQs and bike racks, there is enough to keep toddlers, preschoolers and primary schoolers happy for a few hours.
The only problem is with wayward littlies: there is no fencing onto a fairly busy road, and nothing to stop them wading into the muddy Cooks River.
Overall, though, this park is a welcome addition to the Inner West and a great stop on the Cooks River cycleway.
