This is the biggest free entry Fun Park in Australia, worth over $2 million and has play equipment for all ages - from toddlers to teenagers. There is even an adult exercise area.

The Park has lighting towers and security cameras, to ensure that it can be accessed 24/7 by the general public. The Park include six free electric BBQs, tables and seating, making this a great family picnic area. The Park is fenced with self closing gates, so that parents can sit back and relax whilst the children play.

I take my four kids (and their friends!) aged from 1 years old to 14 years old to play here and the equipment is suitable for all of them. No "Mum, I'm bored!" here! From twisting slides, to climbing walls, rope towers, swings, bridges, roundabouts, play gym, hammocks and more - this playground is ideal for a great day out with the whole family.

This park's claim to fame is that it is the biggest free funpark in the southern hemisphere. It has everything you could ask for. Spider climbing tower for the bigger kids. Lots of twirly whirly activities. Slides for the big and small and even some resistance exercise equipment for the adults. Lots of adults can't resist having a go on the kids equipment it is just so much fun.

Donnybrook Adventure Playground has equipment suitable for toddlers to teens, with a great range of climbing frames, body weight exercise equipment and slides. Two massive structures for climbing lead you to slides suitable for 4 ages. There are picnic facilities and toilets.

The wooden fort / castle section of the playground is gated, so although you'll lose sight of your kidlets if you can't keep up with them, they can't "escape".

There is a nominated toddler area, with a smaller slide and toddler swings, plus a tunnel and bridge.

Lots of seats within the castle to sit and watch your children.

Many different areas to explore....some with steps manageable by smaller toddlers, but a few "drop off" spots with fireman pole and a tyre hole to climb down.

A large curly tube slide, and another straight tube slide are also included.

Little "treasures" to find such as the huge ball bearings that play music.

Turrets and hidey-holes, a great spot for some hide and seek.

Outside of the wooden fortress area is another modern play area. This has a slide plus some great equipment that twists and turns. Negative of this area is it's close proximity to the carpark.

It does seem like there is some works occurring, so maybe a fence around this area is included.

Toilets are close enough, plus an ice-cream van seems to have taken up residence.

Lots of table/undercover areas, but they seem to go quickly on the weekends for birthday parties.

Great playground. Lots of steps, slides and nooks and crannies to explore. Best to keep a close eye on toddlers though as there are some high steps and open 'drop-offs' that could be dangerous if unaware. The fire truck is great for all ages. Loved the music area also.

A wide range for kids of all ages to play on. From slides to a huge climbing web for the older kids. The park also has barbecues and toilets. Take a walk around the lake (40mins), or try your luck at fishing. Take a dip in the lake, which is popular in summer, or sit on the beach front.

Spacious park next to the lovely lake. Shelter areas nearby as well as toilets. On sunny days, you need to get there early and time your arrival to get a picnic shelter - it gets very busy! There are often powered remoted control boats to interest little ones, and canoes are available for hire at times. It's an easy walk even with kids around the lake and even on cooler mornings you will see lots of walkers and joggers.

You do need to be wary of dogs being walked without leads in areas they shouldn't be, particularly on the beach if your child is playing on the sand. Unfortunately the local council do not partrol the lake often enough to prevent this happening.

The playground area is well maintained with a variety of equipment and a gate with child lock abuts the lake.

Brand new playground completed April 2017. Amazing landscaping, but they've taken down the fence. Not much for little toddlers to do anymore. The little slide is a tube so can't hold their hand as they go down.

What a HUGE disappointment after waiting for what we thought would be something great. NOTHING suitable for toddlers apart from a swing - every slide has chains / netting to climb up which a child under 3 can't manage. WHO DESIGNS THESE THINGS? CLEARLY NO ONE WITH YOUNG CHILDREN. It might look "pretty" but it is pretty useless in terms of functionality for any pre-school child. Another missed opportunity & misuse of taxpayer's $$$.

Wow - What a playground! This whole playground is brand new and absolutley fantastic!
So much to do - double flying fox, two climbing structures, a large splash play pad, all abilities swing, a lovely rock river bed with water toggle, rope climbing, parkour apparatus, lovely sculptures, heaps of swings, bbq, picnic tables...
It's all set by the lovely Lilydale Lake with beautiful trees and grassy areas. We will most certainly be back!!!.

What a disappointment, this playground looked like it would have so much potential. But most of it is not appropriate for toddlers, there are two slides both are tube one of which is not great and one is closed for unknown reasons and the other has no stairs so if anyone wants to come down the slide they have to crawl up the slide which is not great.

The water section is fantastic, but likely only good for a few months of the year.

The monkey bars look like someone just forgot to pack up their scaffold and seem too thick for the kids to use comfortably.

There also appears to be a few other things that are still unfinished, it is really really disappointing.

This park is brilliant! There’s a huge sandpit, a series of Aussie tree houses, a climbing wall and fun with sounds. On weekends and after school it is buzzing with children climbing, sliding and having lots of fun.

The large flat area beside the playground is perfect for parents to sit down and set up a picnic, plus there are leaf shaped tables and extra barbeque facilities.

Kalinga Park also has a kid-size practice bikeway, a creek complete with ducks and a dog off-leash area. If you live nearby, ride your bikes along the bike path that stretches from Toombul shopping centre to Grange and beyond.

Kalinga Park is a Brisbane City Council active and healthy park, with free activities.

This is the most impressive playground I've reviewed so far. It's not the biggest or the brightest or the flashiest; in fact, you might not think it's too different to other new playgrounds on first glance. But it is, very much so.

Designed to be all-inclusive, it is welcoming and inviting to everyone of all abilities. From the moment you approach the time-release gate, it becomes evident that great care was taken in the design of each element in the park.

Aside from a multi-use unit that was retained from the previous playground, every piece is single use. That is, it spins or swings or can be climbed, but not all three together. The equipment is carefully spaced on rubber turf that is painted different colours to help kids identify active and safe zones. Kids can still challenge themselves on these pieces, but shouldn't be overwhelmed by unexpected activity that is too close.

There are many opportunities for kids to socialise and make eye contact within the playground. However, it's the areas that allow kids to explore safely by themselves or with a carer, that are really impressive. Many of these spaces are enhanced by musical and vibrational elements throughout the park.

Particular care has been taken to help autistic kids manage their anxiety. The whole playground was designed with this in mind, but the most obvious signs are the numbers along the snake pathway and the screen associated with the carousel. This motorised carousel (Whirly-Go-Round 4800) allows kids to sit on chairs, or be secured in their wheelchair. Fast or slow speed can be selected, then it will spin for two minutes. A countdown is shown on the screen so kids can see how much longer they have.

Other equipment includes a bird's nest swing, tandem stampede rider, sandpit, squeaky tyres, chime piano, wide slide, pyramid rope spinner, G-pod spinner, mini rock-climbing pyramid and more. All of this is under shade sails and surrounded by lovely native plantings.

As I said, really, really impressive.

Ruffey Lake Park is most impressive with two significant playgrounds on either side of vast, rolling parklands. The playgrounds have something for all ages, are interesting, have shade and are situated amongst heaps of lovely eucalypts. Take a picnic and the kids bikes, and while away a happy afternoon.

Mostly suitable for older kids. Best to go on weekdays as weekends can get quiet busy.
They've updated it at the victoria street entrance and added more BBQs and seating.
Most of the park is off leash for dogs, but they aren't allowed in the playground. But unfortunately, many don't follow these rules and you can find dogs in the playground on weekends.

Recently we had a family function at this park and although it was incredibly busy the park caters so well for the number of people that attend that it wasn't an issue.

There are many tables / chairs and bbq's.

Plenty of space for many children to play in the two playgrounds. The flying fox was especially a big hit for my elder children.

My toddlers loved the thrill of the large slide as well as the sandpit and swings.

We spent a good 6 hours at the park and at the end of the day the kids still weren't ready to leave!!

This is a fantastic park, probably suited most for 5-10 year olds. It has flying foxes, a giant slide, sandpit, lots of monkey bars, toilets and on weekends, sometimes a coffee caravan is set up which is handy! Very spread out so you don't notice the crowds so much.

If you don’t like sandpits with water, this isn’t the park for you! Great park for older children, lots of climbing, sliding, swinging and adventures to be had. Beautiful location with lots of space, trees and seating areas. Handy toilet block and parking. We always bring a spare change of clothes as the sandpit seems to be the main feature.
